Cannabis, weed, kush, marijuana, one thing we can agree on is that there are so many names for cannabis that are learned by region and time period. As many names as we have for cannabis we have little ways to educate people on cannabis in the proper way to where they can be informed consumers. The lack of cannabis education, started with local laws that increase limitations on top of federal laws and have made the process extremely difficult to near impossible in some cases. Throughout the years and what should have been seen at the time of criminalization as a racist law being allowed to pass has state by state been overturned by due process. The biggest issues on the federal level is that not enough people with active voting power and appeal are educated in cannabis enough to properly make the right decisions in regards to cannabis law. What does cannabis law mean? Well it is currently how state by state cannabis licenses are distributed, the certifications required are set, the overall cost of taxes, and quality control upheld.[Insert Harry ASlinger reference] [insert links on aslinger]
Why is cannabis education important?
Product knowledge is the basis of all buying habits and proper use, when you purchase a car, or try a new recipe out, do you not research prior to you going to the store? Cannabis being an agricultural pharmaceutical food product with the versatility of a cash crop has many layers to it that we still don’t fully understand. However those who are researching and learning actively have a foot up on those with no access to cannabis education aside from government propaganda, and low grade local distrubutors. Even if you yourself do not consume a product such as opioids, insulin, nor have a chronic pain ailment such as arthritis or epilepsy you can recognize the need in those who do suffer and require these treatments. Cannabis has the same methodology as any other food product you consume and needs to be treated the same way. So you should care about how your cannabis is grown, how long ago it was harvested, whether pesticides were used in farming, and just the overall quality; these factors all impact the medicinal effectiveness of the cannabis plant. This brings us to pharmaceutical quality, and how there are different qualities of the same medicine and some are not as effective as others. Meaning that even if you consume for medical purposes you must be wary of quality standards as medical cannabis has a sketchy track record more so than black market cannabis, as states are not all properly regulating the quality of legal cannabis goods to the standard required to prevent consumer harm. On top of the lack of regulations there are no real education programs instilled for medical patients transitioning over nor for seasoned users now able to go medicinale. Cannabis is prescribed a lot with no real guidelines, or information for consumers to navigate shops with. Any medicine being taken without guidance nor knowledge can lead to ill symptoms unintentionally, making cannabis appear harmful to all.
How can we change this?
BY EDUCATING PEOPLE ON CANNABIS NUANCES AND NOT JUST THE ‘STRAIN’ NAMES. NUANCES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

ENDOCANNABINOID WHEEL [I have one hanging up in my room for reference]
